Htr7 - Model 6498 - KO

Constitutive Knockout

Cryopreserved Model
This line is cryopreserved and requires cryorecovery.

  • Model #
  • Genotype
  • Nomenclature
  • 6498
    B6;129S6-Htr7tm1.2 Mrl
  • The targeting vector has been generated using 129SvEv DNA and transfected into 129SvEv ES cell line.
  • Htr7 exon 1 was disrupted by the neomycin resistance cassette, which is flanked by loxP sites.
  • Chimeric mice were produced and germ line transmission achieved.
  • The neomycin resistance gene has not been deleted in the constitutive KO mice.
  • Disruption of exon 1 should result in loss of function of the Htr7 gene by deleting functional domains of the protein.
  • Htr7 constitutive KO mice are in a mixed C57BL/6-129SvEv genetic background, but backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 3 generations.
  • See M.R. Guscott et al, Neuropharmacology 44, 1031-1037, 2003, for further details.

Customers may purchase this model by signing the appropriate Terms of Sale (below) and providing a PO. The GEM Collection Commercial and Academic Terms of Sale grant perpetual use rights.
GEM Collection models exist as cryopreserved materials. Models can typically be recovered and delivered to customers within 14-16 weeks after order receipt. Customers will receive:

  • A minimum of four (4) mice heterozygous for the selected mutation. In rare cases where the cryopreserved material also contains a recombinase gene, this may be reduced to 1-2 heterozygous mice.
  • Validated genotyping protocols
  • Animal health report. Mice will meet Taconic's Murine Pathogen Free™ (MPF™) health standard.

Please note that in rare instances (2%) cryorecovery may prove to be difficult, either extending timeline or ultimately successful recovery.
