  • Pink eyed animals, associated with certain coat colors, and the Pde6brd1 retinal degeneration mutation can cause light sensitivity and/or blindness in some animals. This may impact the results of behavioral testing. Upon request, animals can be screened for eye color, coat color, and/or rd1 homozygosity for an additional fee.

Origin:

This control stock was generated via a genetic refresh of model #2508. Homozygous 2508 females were mated to Swiss Webster males. Hemizygous males from this cross were mated to B6D2F1 females. Wild type offspring from this second cross were used to establish control model #18392, whereas hemizygous males and females were intracrossed to generate homozygous mice to re-establish model #2508.
