Stem Cell Special Report: Germlines and gene-editing

DDNews features Taconic Biosciences in this write-up due to their knowledge of gene-editing technology:

"Early this year, Junjiu Huang and colleagues in China triggered a cascade of controversy when they decided to apply gene-editing technologies to human embryos, methods that had been extensively applied to embryos of other species. As they stated in the abstract of their paper in Protein & Cell, they wanted to better understand DNA repair mechanisms in early embryos as well as the efficiencies and fidelities of these methods--in this case, CRISPR--in preimplantation embryos."
