These Taconic staff members have achieved a significant level of professional recognition based on their proficiency in and comprehension of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles and practices. To earn this certification, individuals must demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to Lean processes and quality techniques and practices in their jobs and throughout their careers.
"To have nine Taconic employees achieve the Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a major milestone in Taconic's Operational Excellence initiative," said Terry Receveur, Taconic's Director of Lean. To qualify for Taconic ASQ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) certification, an employee must have three years of related work experience, attend a rigorous, two-week ASQ training course, complete a successful Lean Six Sigma project, and pass a stringent ASQ exam. Certified LSSGBs apply tools and techniques from Lean manufacturing and the DMAIC model (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) while working on Six Sigma projects under the supervision of a Black Belt.
