Often used as source for pronuclear embryos for microinjection of transgenes
Has genetic and phenotypic uniformity
Origin:
The B6SJLF1 hybrid model is developed by intercrossing C57BL/6NTac female mice to SJL/JCrNTac male mice from Taconic US's commercial colonies.
Genetics:
For genetic comparisons and pertinent data, refer to “Genetics” for the parent strains of this hybrid. The B6SJLF1 will be heterozygous at the loci where the C57BL/6 and the SJL differ, and homozygous at the loci where they are the same.
Taconic cannot accept orders by weight for this model.
n= 100 per sex at MPF health standard from US colonies. Data collected 2011-13.
High and Low represent mean +/- 1 standard deviation. Based on sample size the charts above represents ~70% of the population.
All growth curves represent animals housed in our barriers, at our standard density and fed NIH31-M diet. Variations at customer facilities will alter expected growth curves.
