Taconic's diagnostic laboratories offer the molecular-based (PCR) detection of rodent pathogens. These PCR tests can detect the presence of bacteria or viruses in a variety of specimens. Taconic's Health Testing Laboratories have experienced staff and a molecular diagnostic suite dedicated to providing you with quick and accurate results. Tasks, such as nucleic extraction and PCR set-up are performed in separate rooms of our molecular diagnostic suite to prevent cross-contamination of samples and the occurrence of false-positive results. In addition, assay controls guard against false-negative results. All positive results are automatically confirmed by re-test and are approved by the Laboratory Directors.
